Simulation of DNA damage using Geant4‐DNA: an overview of the “molecularDNA” example application

The scientific community shows a great interest in the study of DNA damage induction, repair and biological effects on cells cellular systems after exposure to ionizing radiation. Several in-silico methods have been proposed so far these mechanisms using Monte Carlo simulations. This outlines Geant4-DNA example application, named "molecularDNA", publicly released 11.1 version Geant4 (December 2022). It was developed for novice users requires only basic understanding scripting languages get started. currently proposes two different DNA-scale geometries targets, namely "cylinders", "human cell". public is based previous prototype includes new features such as: adoption approach modeling chemical stage (IRT-sync), use Standard Damage (SDD) format describe radiation-induced upgraded computational tools estimate response.
